Chinese Carved Jade Mala Beads

This string features 16 carved white jade figures of monks with small carnelian beads (carved with the Shou symbol) I believe that these jade monk beads were at on time also part of a prayer string… which would have had 18 beads originally.

    Hi,
Your photos of the mala beads and the the other carved beads are just incredible! The beads themselves are gorgeous, but I know it is SO hard to get good photos with details on white and clear , and yours really do justice! I’m in love with the rock crystal beads!

I have a white jade mala necklace with each bead having many tiny carved Buddhas around the surface. I’ve seen pictures of single walnuts carved like this, but not jade, and not a complete necklace. Have you ever seen this before? Each tiny face/figure is distinct, and it’s really neat. I’d like to get it appraised sometime, too–any suggestions? There are some spacer/counter beads and the guru bead is different. The string looks like it was meant to be just a temporary string, though. I’d sure appreciate you thoughts on it!

Thank you very much for the compliment! I have not seen what you are describing in jade either. I will contact you directly …I would be interested in finding out more about them.
