Foundational Process™  is based on the fundamental principles that frame CBCR. It utilizes them in its approach for intervention, conflict systems and process design, as well as training. It emphasizes the use of foundational experiential techniques and skills.

The following principles form the basis for CBCR and Foundational Process:

 Barrier-Free…Without obstacles that prevent reasonable access.
 
 Experiential…Utilizes and emphasizes learning through participating.
 
 Positively-Centered…Looks for solutions rather than emphasizing blame.
 
 Responsive…That it is based on the needs of those it is applied to.
 
 Inclusive…That everyone is included
 
 Principled…Based on, or practiced with, an underlying set of values.
 
 Uniform…Consistent and unifying.
 
 Sustainable…That it can be continued and supported.
